Dolly, her husband, and the whole family were very excited to welcome the latest member to their family. They readied their home, thought of suitable baby names and was eagerly waiting for baby's arrival. But during the final sonography session baby was diagnosed with cervical meningomyelocele. Within a second all the bundle of joy was taken away from their lives. Cervical meningomyelocele is the most severe type of split spine, a congenital defect that occurs when the backbone and spinal canal fail to close before the baby is born.

Chandradeep work as an employee in a small village at Anaj Mandir, Gurgaon. He earns Rs. 8,000/- per month and needs to pay Rs.3,000/- rent for their shelter. He is the sole breadwinner of their family and to arrange another
Rs. 1, 50, 000/- (One Lakh Fifty Thousand Only) for NICU stay for a week is beyond his means.
